Hi! I'm Danny!
That you're checking out this support site and my app is both humbling and flattering. I really hope you like it and I hope you'll get involved and share your ideas and suggestions.
RBG is a one-man show. I don’t have a team. I don’t have offices. I don't have any support. I do everything.
I create the screens and the less than impressive animation when dice are rolled, wheels are spun, and cards are dealt. I don’t have the financial resources to hire help.
I monitor and reply to the reviews that get posted in the App Store and on Google Play. I also maintain this simple, "html only" support site. When a Player uses "Send Feedback" from a game's menu,
they are texting me directly.
And I'm the guy who responds at 3 a.m. - unless I'm at a table in my local casino or I'm so wiped out that I put my phone on silent and fell asleep.
I've been writing software for about 40 years. Riverboat Gambler is my first mobile app. I created it to see if I could and because I wanted a realistic Mississippi Stud game to play on my iPhone.
I've learned several things from the experience of creating my mobile app:
-
It's a lot of work to support the variety of devices that exist and will exist in the future. Each time that Apple or Android introduce a new device with different dimensions,
it's a lot of work to make sure the app won't break.
Now, they are making devices that "fold" or support multiple open apps on the screen at one time. As a result, each time a major update or
new device comes from either platform, there is always the chance that I will need to "throw in the towel" because I lack the skills to keep up with them.

Some people simply expect to get screwed by the developers who create the games they download and play for free. Now, I can't say with any level of confidence that other companies are not "rigging" their games.
After all, who hasn't seen an ad for a slot machine app that guarantees "you’ll win millions in your first 10 spins".
I've evaluated such apps while trying to figure out how to improve and further enhance Riverboat Gambler. Sure enough, in many cases, if I make a purchase, I automatically hit a "very hot streak" for a while.
The more I spend, the longer and hotter is the streak. Eventually, I have fewer winning spins and ultimately deplete my bankroll.
For me, the "fix" seems blatantly obvious. It's almost guaranteed: spend money, win a lot for a while, start losing so you need to spend more to keep playing.
However, it's also so obvious that it really doesn't seem "unfair". It's almost like a feature of the games that do it. There's a heck of a dopamine rush when you rack up a few trillion "coins". Trust me! I've done it! 😂
I can state with confidence that nobody will ever be able to identify a similar pattern in Riverboat Gambler. I say that because it doesn't exist. RBG is 100% random with respect to how cards are shuffled and dealt, wheels are spun,
and dice are rolled.

Other developers can be brutal, unscrupulous, and are unrestrained by the App Store and Google Play. When I first released Riverboat Gambler in the stores, I was amazed (and humbled) by the adoption.
I'm literally just one old guy who enjoys spending his time in casinos and enjoys writing software. I developed the app, people started to download it, enjoy it, and to request additional games be added.
Riverboat Gambler is 100% what it is today because of a loyal Player Community and the enjoyment I get from supporting their requests.
Yet, periodically, there are spikes in anonymous bad (1 Star) reviews. These are cases where someone opts to write a review of the app, but only hits "1 Star" and fails to leave any textual criticism to
support that bad rating.
As time went by, I began to realize that these anonymous, unsupported 1 Star reviews were likely being posted by other developers who were trying to drive down the overall app rating in the hopes that they
could discourage folks from downloading the app in an effort to compete against it. Seems like a crazy, childish, and petty marketing strategy, but "whatever"! 😂
To those Players who appreciate the hardwork that has gone into creating Riverboat Gambler and continues in the maintenance, evolution, and support of it,
the best thing you can do for me is to post a review in the App Store or on Google Play.
YOU are my best advertising!
To those Players who believe I'm trying to rip you off: you should probably delete Riverboat Gambler - immediately.
My goal is to provide a reliable, realistic casino simulator. Not feed a dopamine rush and I don't have the skills nor the desire to rip you off. 😎
